DaSH - Data Science with Human-in-the-loop @ VLDB 2025
September 5th, 2025 - London, UK
September 5th, 2025 - London, UK
The increasing complexity and scale of modern data management systems demand more effective human-in-the-loop techniques to enhance automation, improve data quality, and optimize decision-making. This workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to explore novel methods for integrating human expertise into the database and data science pipeline, minimizing human effort while maximizing system performance and usability. We welcome submissions that address system implementations and real-world applications of human-in-the-loop techniques in data management and data science:
Topics of interest to this workshop include, but are not limited to:
Human and AI techniques for schema matching, entity resolution, and semantic data integration
Query optimization and interactive query processing
Human and AI techniques for management of schema evolution, concept drift and domain adaptation
Anomaly detection and resolution
Human and AI techniques for data preparation and cleaning
Visualization-driven data exploration
Interactive analytics in large-scale systems
Supervised learning with humans-in-the-loop
Human intervention in unsupervised learning
Optimizing human effort in data labeling
Human-in-the-loop during model evaluation and model improvement
Human-in-the-loop issues in implementing, using, evaluating, and deploying data management system in specific applications (e.g., medical, scientific, legal, business, digital humanities, creative).
Authors are invited to submit either of the following:
Original, unpublished research papers that are not being considered for publication in any other forum. Research papers are limited to six pages in length, excluding references.
Short papers of late-breaking work and work in progress. Abstracts are limited to two pages.
Authors of both types of papers will need to present these papers at DaSH.
Submissions to the workshop must be in PDF and should follow the VLDB format (LaTeX template), and the review process will be single-blind. The accepted paper will be included in the workshop proceedings hosted by VLDB.
One Best Paper Award will be selected!
Submission website on OpenReview is open on March 25, 2025! Please submit your paper(s) via this link.
